Why White Paint is Magical

Paint to update home

A simple coat of white paint can unlock the beauty of your home. A gallon of white paint can dramatically change your home without extensive remodeling. Painting produces a home rejuvenation for pennies compared to any other home improvement. I have some before and after photos of our sitting room and living room that proves white paint is magical.

Before we moved into our home, it was filled with heavy 1980s orange wood. EEEK!

White Paint Can Instantly Update a Room

Colors have an enormous impact on our moods. A certain color scheme can have a calming, relaxing effect, making it ideal for bedrooms or Zen spaces. Some colors, such as yellow or orange, have a cheerful and lively vibe, making them ideal for spaces where you want to inject positive emotions. Paint can help enhance your home’s ambiance, making it your sanctuary.

I am a lifelong ocean lover who lives far from the sea. Since I’m landlocked, I love light and bright, with plenty of blue and white decor. My go-to white paint for trim and crown molding are Sherwin Williams Extra White. It pops and I love the cool undertones of this color.

I like to combine white paint with floor Sherwin Williams Sea Salt and Sherwin Williams Silver Strand. I love both of these colors!

Before and After

As you can see from the before photos, all our rooms looked dark and dingy before we moved in. By using SW Extra White on all the orange 1980s wood, it’s a complete transformation.

We are revamping our home again. I promise to have more “After” photos to show you after this next round of updates is done.
